About Behind the French Doors

My name is Kasia, and I am both humbled and thrilled to present my re-loved furniture and home goods store. Behind the French Doors is a mom-owned shop that takes the sturdy, reliable furniture and décor of the past and gives it the love, care, and the touch of magic needed for a truly great facelift. Someone once said “People do not buy goods and services, they buy relations, stories, and magic," and this is the mantra that goes into every one of my antique pieces that are redone in a new and modern way. My father and my grandfather before him were furniture makers, creating pieces to last a lifetime, and I try to stay true to their legacy everyday by extending the lives of great furniture—that kind that deserves a second chance.

Beyond refurbishing antique furniture, I also provide repainting and treating window frames, moldings, built in closets, shelving units, and more. Using color palettes that belong in both cozy nooks in shabby chic homes and among the clean lines of modern spaces, my work can be modified to fit your story.
